MacBook 13″ / MacBook Pro /
iMac DVD drive (Superdrive) replacement

If your Superdrive (DVD drive) has stopped working or is not reading discs it might need replacement.

If the Superdrive is not responding (not ejecting the disc inside the unit) please try the following before considering replacing it: restart your Mac and when you hear the startup chime press and hold the mouse button or the touchpad button. After a few seconds, if it’s just a software problem, your drive will eject the disc and then proceed with the Mac OS startup.

Superdrive replacement is available for £100.
